DENR FACILITATES DISCUSSION ON RESILIENCE BETWEEN LOCAL EXPERTS

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science Carlos Primo C. David (leftmost) moderates the panel discussion entitled “Bakit Kailangan Maging Matatag: Conversation with Scientists/Experts” during the DENR-led “Barangayan para sa Kalikasan at Bayang Matatag” Forum on October 12, 2023. Held in Pasay City, Metro Manila, the discourse between (from left) Manila Observatory Head of Geomatics for Environment and Development Laboratory Dr. Faye Cruz, Quirino Province Governor Dakila Carlo Enriquez Cua, and Bago City, Negros Occidental Mayor Nicholas Yulo focused on understanding resilience in the context of exposures to various risks and ecological vulnerabilities and how local government units should address them. The Barangay Resilience Forum led by the DENR was attended by barangay officials, local chief executives, development organizations from the private sector, civil society, and academic institutions. The event was in collaboration with the Department of National Defense-Office of Civil Defense, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the National Resilience Council.#
