Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Antonia Loyzaga (right) meets with (from left to right) European Union (EU) Director for Asia, Central Asia and Middle East Peteris Ustubs, and EU Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Veron during a courtesy call meeting at the DENR Central Office in Quezon City on April 24. They discussed opportunities for collaboration on climate action. Most recently, the DENR has participated in the Copernicus Capacity Support Action Programme for the Philippines conference launched by EU, Philippine Space Agency, and the Department of Science and Technology on the same day. The programme, the first in Asia, aims to help Philippine authorities develop national systems to make use of EU’s earth observation satellites data in the country’s disaster mitigation, climate adaptation and food security strategies. #
