Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Solid Waste Management and Local Government Units Concerns and Manila Bay Anti-Pollution Task Force Head Benny D. Antiporda (left) discusses with marine vessel owners and representatives of shipyard associations the concern on the prevention and cleanup of rust, silt, and other discharges from ships docked in Manila Bay. In the meeting, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) explained PCG Memorandum 10-14 to prevent pollution by sewage from ships operating within the Philippine maritime jurisdiction. The meeting was held at the DENR Central Office on June 18. Aside from DENR, also present during the meeting were representatives from the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau, Laguna Lake Development Authority and officials from the PCG National Capital Region-Central Luzon. ###
