Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning Corazon C. Davis calls for the revival of the “alulod,” or roof drain to harvest rainwater to avert water scarcity in the country.  Representing DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu in the Water Pre-summit held Wednesday at the Crowne Plaza in Ortigas Center, Quezon City, Davis said “it is worth re-designing homes with ‘alulod’ again especially in areas that lack water.”  The event, the last leg in a series of discussions on water security, focused on governance and resilience sector. Outputs from the pre-summit discussions will serve as basis for the development of a comprehensive national water roadmap that will be presented to President Duterte in the forthcoming National Water Summit. ###
