MOTORBOATS FOR PAMPANGA LGUs.
Central Luzon Executive Director Maximo Dichoso (left photo) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) signs the deed of transfer/donation of two 30 horsepower pump boats worth P1.6 million for the local government units of Macabebe, Masantol, San Simon, Minalin and San Luis in Pampanga. The towns are part of the three-year Lower Pampanga River Basin Mangrove Rehabilitation Project that aims to rehabilitate 70 hectares of mangrove area by planting at least 600,000 species of bakauan, nipa and bamboo to shield the province from storm surges and flooding. The motorboats will provide mobility and transportation to strengthen the monitoring and protection of mangrove areas in these towns and shall also be used for relief and rescue operations in times of natural calamities.
