Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ramon J. P. Paje (center, top photo) has declared ‘Lolong’ as ‘ambassador’ for crocodile conservation in the country in simple rites Monday at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Bureau in Quezon City. Top photo shows Bunawan (Agusan del Sur) Mayor Edwin Elorde (left) presenting Paje and Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau Director Theresa Mundita Lim (right) the Guinness World Records Certificate that declares ‘Lolong’ as the largest living crocodile in captivity with official measurement of 20.24 feet in length.   Lower photo shows ‘Lolong’  in his enclosure at the Bunawan Eco-Park and Research Center, which has become his ‘second’ home following his capture in September 2011 at the Magsagangsang River in Brgy. Nueva Era, also in Bunawan.
