DENR-Region 6 hosts RDRRMC meeting.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) played host to the strategic planning workshop of the Rehabilitation and Recovery Committee of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) on Tuesday (July 10).

DENR Office-in-Charge and Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Ecosystems Research and Development Service Dr. Alicia L. Lustica said that the activity shall equip line agencies and other sectors in the rehabilitation and recovery efforts following a calamity.
Office of Civil Defense-Department of National Defense consultant Rolly Asuncion discussed the structure on the rehabilitation and recovery strategies, especially on communication protocol during calamities.

The meeting likewise focused on the review and the realignment of the initial logical framework of the rehabilitation and recovery component of the RDRRMC from 2012 to 2016; and finalized outputs and activities, as well as draft outline of individual agency and sector plan for the rehabilitation and recovery phase based on the post disaster needs assessment.

Other topics discussed include the adoption of standard communication protocol that would ensure systematic sharing of information and submission of plans and other issues such as livelihood and employment, infrastructure and lifeline facilities, resettlement and shelter, psychosocial and mental health, and environment and ecosystem.

Representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Army and other key officials of the DENR 6 with RTD for Forest Management Service Livino B. Duran, OIC-Administrative Officer Atty. Elmer R. Camarista, among others, attended the meeting.
