CLEAN UP OF ESTERO TRIPA DE GALLINA
Environmental Management Bureau Director Juan Miguel Cuna (2nd from right) congratulates Rear Admiral (RADM) Chrisler Cabarrubias, national commander of the Philippine Coastal and River Guards Agroupation (PCRGA), following the signing of a memorandum of agreement to clean up the Estero Tripa de Gallina in Pasay City, as well as other critical waterways in Metro Manila. The agreement, forged at PCRGA’s International Clubhouse in Pasay City, calls for the River Guards to bring in manpower and equipment, such as river boats, barges, suction machines and other similar machinery, to help dredge Tripa de Gallina of pollutants. The EMB, on the other hand, committed to intensify its monitoring of industrial andcommercial establishments and to undertake regular water quality monitoring of selected points within Tripa de Gallina and other identified water bodies.
